Time Management
I guess I didn't anticipate losing so much time so fast. Starting school on Monday was exciting. Meeting the other students with similar lives as myself, what a coincidence. Maybe because I registered late and still had obligations to fulfill is why I'm stressed. I had to go to Moraine Valley on Tuesday to turn in my consortium agreement paperwork for my financial aid. Today I had to go to work late so I can get an immunization shot and some blood work. I am glad that is over!
I find that I am learning how to write again. Not just punctuation and grammar, but how to properly write an essay. I asked my daughter for assistance since she loves to write. She pulls out this piece of paper with different rules or styles on how to write an essay. I used to just write an opening paragraph, then the body, and finally a conclusion. Which is wrong! There is sentence structure within the paragraph that I had forgotten about or was unaware of. I appreciate her taking the time to teach me the proper technique, which I still don't fully understand. By the end of this course, I hope to understand what it takes to write a great essay.
I am also struggling with programs like this Blogger and Word. It took me a couple times to figure out the address part of the blog, but I think I've got it. I had similar problems putting my essay to Word. I don't have Word at home, so I had to email myself the essay so I could send it from work. It took me a minute to figure out how to upload it to the site. Putting wallpaper on this blog like Kim's blog is gonna be a whole other battle.
These are the things I did not plan on when I was thinking of time management. The actual process of registering for school. Oh, so many steps! The learning of the programs I have seldom or never used. On the plus side, my registration steps are complete. I have used these programs once and can only get faster using them. As time moves forward I will learn more about this Blogger and Word and more of my time will be spent on doing the actual essays and blogs!

ReplyDeleteGlad you finally got the hang of Blogger! I'm sure you will find that it is easy to use. I like it because it gives writers the chance to express themselves without having to be too concerned with formal writing--such as that used in research papers.

ReplyDeleteYou will learn quickly how to use Google Blogger. I am glad you figured it out. It is nice knowing we are not alone. We all struggle in our own ways. The first semester was very hard for me. It takes time to adjust and learn how to manage your time. I am sure you will do great!
